Join Missouri Humanities and the Lebanon-Laclede County Library for "How to Talk Ozark in Seven Simple Steps," a lighthearted presentation exploring early ethnic and cultural influences on the Ozarks through the lens of dialect and accent. Missouri Speakers Bureau presenter, Brooks Blevins is an author and Noel Boyd Professor of Ozarks Studies at Missouri State University in Springfield.
On Tuesday, June 6 at 6pm, Brooks brings history to life for Natives or longtime residents of the Ozarks, who will enjoy revisiting styles and words that have probably gone unused for decades, and others will gain an appreciation for cultural diffusion and regional distinctiveness in Missouri—as well as the forces that constantly chip away at that distinctiveness.
This event is recommended for teens and adults. There is no registration required for this event. If you have questions, please call (417)532-2148.
