Food for Fines is back! One nonperishable food item equals $1 in fines, starting Tuesday, November 1, and continuing until Wednesday, November 30. There is a $10 limit per library card.
ACCEPTABLE food items include: baby food, cereals, soup, canned juice, canned vegetables, peanut butter, crackers, rice or pasta, pasta sauce, dried beans, boxed side dishes and snack foods.
UNACCEPTABLE items include: dented cans, rusted cans, damaged items, open packages, expired items, unreadable labels, and perishable foods.
Any unacceptable items will be turned away immediately and fines will not be forgiven.
Additional donations are welcome and appreciated. All food will be donated to local food banks. If you have questions, please call the library at (417) 532-2148.
